Sharing your support

Be a vaccine champion

Nine out of 10 parents keep their children up to date on routine vaccinations before they start their first day of kindergarten.source: 1 Imagine what the conversation would look like if 9 out of 10 us were vocal about it on social media.

It’s so important for parents to share thoughts about vaccines on social media matters because it “right sizes” the conversation. This helps other parents understand that the 1 out of 10 who do not keep their children up to date on vaccines before they start school are not in the majority.

Let’s step up and share our support of vaccines so they can continue to protect our children. The more of us who speak up, the easier it will be to protect them.

Here are 5 easy ways to be a vaccine champion on social media:

Like, Like, Like. This is by far the easiest action. The more we interact with pro-vaccine social media, the more viral it goes.

Comment. Another easy action! Take a moment to comment on pro-vaccine content.

Share. Sharing is caring! Be sure to check out our Share the Facts page for dozens of shareable social media graphics and vaccine materials.

Correct misperceptions. When a friend posts something untrue, kindly but firmly correct the information. Pointing to a link with the facts is always helpful. You can also share our Credibility Checklist to help others find trustworthy information.

Share your own positive vaccine experience. We tend to trust people we know over experts who are strangers. So speak up! If you or your child are getting a flu vaccine, share where you got it and how quick or easy it was. As back-to-school approaches, share that vaccines are on your to-do list.
